Design + Construction Management

Assay Office, Dublin Castle

Assay Office, Dublin Castle

This project comprised the refurbishment of and extension to the offices of The Company of Goldsmiths of Dublin, to include laboratories, workshops, offices and display area. Comprising the juxtaposition of a high tech contemporary extension and protected structure within the historic heart of Dublin Castle, this was a highly sensitive and challenging project from an archaeological, conservation and construction perspective. The project necessitated an interesting and extensive archaeological investigation into the depths of Dublin’s original ‘black pool’ or Dubh Linn.
